Learn more about using data for story making

Join the Cronkite School for a free presentation on the kinds of data available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for journalists to use and how to utilize them to find story ideas and inspiration. This presentation will be followed by a hands-on data workshop where you can practice using government data to tell stories and ask more in-depth questions of the presenter.

3 to 4 p.m.: Presentation by Amar Mann, supervisory economist and branch chief at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, on the kinds of data the BLS has for journalists and how it can be used to generate stories, followed by a Q&A.

4:15 to 5:15 p.m.: Hands-on workshop following presentation to allow students to see a data set in action and ask more detailed questions.
